Get Married Quickly in Brisbane
If you want to get married quickly in Brisbane, the main thing to understand is that Australian marriage law usually requires at least one calendar month of notice.
So “quickly” usually means getting the paperwork started properly as soon as possible.
The fastest normal path
- Book through the booking form.
- Pay the fee straight away.
- Prepare your NOIM with NOIM Easy.
- Have it witnessed properly and send it to us as soon as possible.
- Send your ID and any divorce or death documents if needed.
- Once the paperwork is received, we confirm the next available date, time, and place.
The biggest timing rule
Your NOIM must usually be received by your celebrant:
- no later than one calendar month before the marriage
- no earlier than 18 months before the marriage
The notice period starts when we receive the completed and signed NOIM.
It does not start when you make an enquiry, book, or pay.
Can it be faster than one month?
Sometimes, but only if a prescribed authority approves a shortening of time.
The official categories are limited. They include:
- employment or travel commitments
- wedding or celebration arrangements, or religious considerations
- medical reasons
- legal proceedings
- an error in giving notice
Shortenings are not automatic, and we cannot approve one for you.
Best way to avoid delays
- use NOIM Easy
- send the paperwork early
- make sure your ID is clear and matches your form
- send divorce or death documents if relevant
- ask for help early if one of you is overseas or needs translations
